Automated Response Unit (ARU)

Every DMERC has an automated phone system that allows you to check claim status with a touch-tone phone. You'll be prompted to enter your 10 digit supplier (NSC) number as well as the patient's Medicare number and date(s) of service. When you call the below numbers, follow the prompts for the ARU.

Claims Status Inquiry (CSI)

All four DMERCs also have on-line Claim Status Inquiry (CSI) which allows you to check claim status via your PC. You'll need the appropriate communications software and you'll have to be registered. Each DMERC has different systems and registration policies, so contact them for specific information.
